b"New Records Set atFins & FairwaysT he Palm Beach County Fishing Foundations (PBCFF) popular Fins & Fairways Team Tournament, a uniquely formatted fishing and golf event, has developed a dedicated following since it was first launched in 2018. This year, a field of 17 four-person teams competed.The fleet posted some solid catches during the fishing portion of the event.Team Tuppen's lead by Steve and Christopher Sprague topped the leader board with a record setting score of 20 points.They weighed in kingfish up to 26.5 pounds and a 35.3 pound blackfin tuna, earning them First Place Fishing Team honors.It is the high-est fishing score ever posted in this event.Team Triple T captained by Eddie Twyford posted a score of 19 points, which earned them the Second Place Fishing Team award.The Triple Ts catch included a 51.4 pound wahoo landed by Tommy Twyford, which claimed the Ande Big Fish Award and set a new tournament record for the heavy weight fish.Team Goin Raptor captained by Paul Sabayrac posted three solid kingfish and two sailfish releases to earn the Third Place Fishing Team award.Teams Kluch, Champions Club, EJ Schrader Mattress, Find The Fire/DeBond and AT Last put up solid fishing scores and were all positioned2023 Fins & Fairways overall winners and 1st Place nicely for the golfing portion ofgolf team, Team Champions Club.the event.Each teams fishing score carries over to the golf course the next day.Much cheer, camaraderie and some good natured trash talk followed the weigh-in at the Sailfish Marinas Tiki Bar where the after-fishing party was held.Heavy Weight Fish winners and 2ndA gorgeous morning greeted the field the follow-Place fishing team, Triple T. ing day at The Champions Golf Club in Stuart.The greens were in pristine shape and rolling fast for the final day on the scenic course.Team Bonner Bar/Kite Keeper, led by Mike and An-drew Simko, posted an impressive golf score of 13 to earn the Third Place Golf Team award. Besting them by one point was Team Action Jacksons with a score of 14, earning them the Second Place Golf Team award.A great showing for Steve & Spencer Jacksons team since it was their first time participating in this event.They will be a team to watch in future events.Team Champions Club claimed First 1st Place fishing team, Team Tuppen's. Place Golf Team honors with an impressive score of 17.Their golf score, added to their fishing score, tallied a total of 27 points. They closed the gap by one point over Team Triple Ts score of 26 for the tournament win.Team Champions Club, David Ladd, Ian Doyle, Steve Anderson and Derek Bohanon, has proven to be the team to beat in this event. Their names have been engraved multiple times on the coveted Tyska Trophy.
