Last December the Fishing Club coordinated a gathering of ‘Old Salts’ for its final meeting of the year and invited them to share stories from their past experiences fishing off Palm Beach County. The Good Old Days: Reflections from Fishing in & around Palm Beach in the ‘30s, ‘40s, ‘50s & ‘60s must have hit a cord with many longtime members judging by those who showed up for the meeting. As with any gathering of fishermen, it didn’t take long before the fish stories were flowing. The event was recorded on video. Additionally, extended interviews were recorded prior to the event with selected longtime WPBFC members (see watch the interviews). The oral history recordings have been sent to several museums throughout the state for their archives. The Fishing Club gratefully acknowledges all those who attended the meet- ing and participated. Special thanks to Ross Hutchinson of Ross Video & Voice for his outstanding technical support. A similar event is planned for the fi- nal meeting of 2014 that will celebrate the Club's 80th an- niversary. Reflections Event at Club a Huge Hit Watch The Interviews...
