Outings

Fishing Club Outings

From time to time the Fishing Club organizes group fishing trips. These outings are as simple as local one-day drift fishing trips, to multi-day getaways. These trips are designed to foster club camaraderie and family fishing fun. Details on recent or upcoming outings can be found below.

Fish with fellow club members!

One question new or potential members have is, “do you have to own a boat to join the club?” Or they’re joining the club, “to meet likeminded people who want to fish and split costs.” Here’s an opportunity to get offshore, catch fish and meet fishing buddies. The Fishing Buddies Outings are half-day fishing charters with local captains who are also fellow WPBFC members. Majority of these trips are out of Palm Beach Inlet, typically on Friday mornings.

Call the club to get on the fishing buddies contact list, for information about upcoming scheduled group charters.

Throughout the year the Fishing Club organizes half-day outings aboard area drift fishing boats. These trips are designed to promote club camaraderie and fun angling competition. These outings are ideally suited for club members who do not own their own boat. Participation is limited to ensure a quality angling experience and feature a big fish award, along with other incentives. Watch for club notices and announcements regarding the next planned drift boat outing.

Feb. 2024 – Outing Flyer

Each February the WPBFC spends a day on the scenic inshore waters of Hobe Sound and the Loxahatchee River tangling with ladyfish, bluefish, pompano, snook & more. This family oriented outing provides a great opportunity to take advantage of some non-stop light tackle fun! The trip is perfect for anglers of all skill levels and is especially well suited for kids…the ladyfish are generally very cooperative! The outing concludes with a potluck style cookout and awards presentation. If you don’t have a boat, we encourage you to also fish the surf in Hobe Sound area, or try to hook up with a fellow member at an upcoming club meeting or by calling the clubhouse 561-832-6780.
